    Hi, I have Vauxhall Astra 2010 reg 1.4 petrol facing tricky problem after completed certain miles gear liver totally stuck can’t change gear when this happen clutch totally on floor but car move off 5-10mph I spoked wd some mechanics have different option some saying clutch gone some saying hydronic problem.Please advice

    When the pedal is "totally on the floor", there is no hydraulic pressure to operate the clutch. You push the pedal, which pushes the master cylinder, which pushes hydraulic fluid, which pushes the slave cylinder, which pushes the clutch itself. Somewhere in that chain, something's not pushing.

    Unless the problem is the pedal or master cylinder, the gearbox needs to come out - and because the parts cost is relatively trivial compared to labour, it's daft not to replace both clutch and slave cylinder while you're there.

    Hi, thanks for the reply last week topup fluid Level it’s working fine but after 1 days facing same problem 1 of mechanic said need to change clutch kit nd slave cylinder. Labour cost is double then parts
