I replied to this, no idea where my post went!

We used to use Branston beans as didn't like Heinz ones, however moved to Asda own brand (in orange packaging), taste pretty idential and only 98p for 4 cans so 24.5p a can which is half price of Branston's.

Morrisons own brand essential beans are lovely, might start stocking up on them, pre-brexit and all that ,!

What I noticed was that the can is smaller than average 400g instead of the 410g for Branston and 415g for Heinz. Probably still cheaper but maybe not enough cheaper than Branston in Farmfoods to make it worthwhile.

I'm a convert to Waitrose own brand. Who'd have thought they'd be money saving. They're 4 tins for 1.10. They're only 400g tins but better value than any Branston prices locally (typically 3 for 1).

I like the Asda own brand beans, 4 for 98p as above.

Adding brown sauce is good for a change to the beans however something else worth trying instead - lightly fry some mushrooms in a little butter (only what you need) and then add in a tin of beans, makes for a very nice alternative to whatever brand of beans you like.

Thanks for all the replies. Taste is so subjective, but I might try out Asda and Waitrose beans to compare with Branston. I think Heinz do most of the supermarket own brand baked beans and just wondered if anyone had found out if Branstons did any other than just their own.
