Land Transaction Tax (LTT) Wales - leeway on buy and sell time

Land Transaction Tax (LTT) Wales - leeway on buy and sell time 12th Oct 18 at 5:33 PM
    Hi,

I'm thinking on moving home within Wales. I' d like to buy the new property (maybe less than 180k, so no LTT) and sell my old house later at my leisure, but within 6 months or so.

My rationale for doing this is to be able to empty the old house and tart it up a bit before selling and also to make the whole process less stressful.

Will the new LTT regime mean I have to pay second home LTT on my purchase i.e. how long do I have to buy a new home and then sell my old home before the second home LTT kicks in ?

Or do I pay second home LTT and claim it back ?

Any guidance or links appreciated as I've searched to no avail.

    Cheers - Joe

Thanks - that's great - 3 years should be more than enough.
