Does caller display now have to be free? 11th Oct 18 at 2:19 PM
    https://www.ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/latest/features-and-news/rule-changes-to-protect-consumers-and-aid-enforcement

But I phoned NowBroadband today and was told emphatically that it is still 1 per month and that it doesn't have to be free.

    It certainly does.

I suggest that you report them to Ofcom.

Just been trying to find what PlusNet say, but as per usual, I can find my way through their arcane, labyrinthine website.
I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.

    This may help:

I resigned to PN in August caller display has been free since then, was chargeable a few years ago when I was last with them.

I'm with Virgin Media and a few days ago the phone suddenly started showing caller-id. Didn't know anything about these changes, so it was a pleasant surprise

Don't you think the link to Ofcom's own site and ruling in the OP was enough?

Another rule in place since 1 October 2018 is that all telecoms providers must have ALL THREE of these methods for making a complaint:
    - a telephone number (which must start 01, 02, 03 or 080),
    - a postal address, AND
    - an email address or website contact form.

Why should the telephone company profit from you being hounded. This lot want to be ashamed. I will never subscribe to this Chanel. Shut the down. Shut them down.

Looks like BT have updated their website.

"How much does it cost? Caller Display is free for all of our customers."
Did you hear about the politician who had a backside transplant? It rejected him.

Just spoke with Now TV to add Caller Display and they confirmed that it is now free (used to be 1pm charge).

    And... it's now working.

Sounds like some of their CSRs fail to read their daily briefings (or whatever they're called in Skyworld)

Vodafone are now advertising free caller display as a feature included with their broadband. I contacted them to request it and they added it to my landline number within a few minutes.

Just used live chat on NowTV to add mine since they appear to be slow to update it themselves, perhaps they need to do it manually for each account as I don't know how their systems work.

I used https://help.nowtv.com/gb/get-in-touch/broadband-calls/my-broadband-or-calls-arent-working and clicked on the Chat Online option, the agent popped up almost instantly so they're pretty quite at the moment.

They need your full name, first line of address and postcode and the last 4 digits of your payment card number as security check (or at least mine did) and it was really quick. I suspect they're getting lots of practice doing this.
