What are your opinions on new iPhones?
Do they offer anything new or is it wiser just to buy older models that are dropping in price a bit now?

Overpriced but the best on the market, as usual. Not sure why there is such a furore about the prices given that Apple has always been incredibly expensive. I do think it is an absurd amount of money but their position in the market allows them to do it.

Anyway, I comment with interest as I am ready to upgrade from my iphone 6, but I cannot decide what to. I like the x and xs for the functionality and size, but the xr for the price (it does seem a little bit on the large side, though).

Has anyone upgraded from 6 to x or xs? Would you say it is worth it?

Going from the 6 to the 8 would still be a great upgrade and better pricing if your worried at all about cost. If your near an Apple store I would go in and play around with the Xs and compare it to the iPhone 8.

Oh if you don't mind updating your OS then make sure your on iOS 12 and see if that gives anything extra to you as you might be able to get extra life from the 6 and just pay for a rolling monthly sim until you decide what exactly you want to do.

This one appears to be cheapest if you don't need more than 4GB Data and can pay up front.

    mobiles.co.uk/apple-iphone-xs-64gb-space-grey

    4GB data
    Unlimited mins
    Unlimited texts
    £23.00 Per month / 2 years
    £540 up front
    Vodafone

They also have XS for slightly more. You can go through TCB/Quidco to get £35 back.

I've just gone from a 7 to an XS and am happy with my choice. Works brilliantly, camera better and is noticeably faster.

Theres not much a £1500 Iphone will do that a £100 cheap smartphone wont.

At the end of the day they can both make calls, send and receive messages, browse the internet, run apps and be dropped and smashed.

The £1,500 iPhone is much more likely to get you mugged in the street.

I see no significant upgrade on the iPhone X. If I had to choose one, I would shell out a few extra bucks and go for the XS Max. Or save money and go for iPhone XR, since it more or less has the same specs as the XS. You can read some really great comparison on The Fone Stuff website. They have covered every aspect of the new phones in detail.

I upgraded from a 6 plus to the XS max and I love it. The camera is amazing compared to my 6, the screen is bright and beautiful, I definitely donít regret it at all. I thought I would hate not having a home button but itís been a seamless transition and I donít mind at all. Big fan here

Strange how you never get people who have spent over a grand on a mobile phone (for those who buy it outright or even more over a 2 or 3 year contract) saying I hate it and feel ripped off. It's almost like they have to justify paying for it. Surely not the case?

I've got an iPhone 7 128GB and it's fine for my needs. My mum got an iPhone XS 256 GB (she loves taking pics and videos, hence got massive storage). I don't see much of a difference between them her phone and my phone in terms of speed. The iPhone 7 is still a good phone for todays standards, Her screen is slightly better, louder sound, and a much better camera. Is it worth the £1150 price tag? I don't think so. I think it's way over priced.

    Morning all
Just treated myself to a new sim free iPhone Xs after having a iPhone 6 for 4 years.
A much faster and nicer device to use.
Am on a sim only deal from three 30gb data, unlimited calls and text inc 30gb of tethering.
    Is it worth £999?
    Thats easy to answer really.
Am working full time, I can afford it, I like a gadget and most importantly i TREATED myself.

I might get an iphone one day if I get advanced dementia. Can't imagine any other reason why I would buy one.
