Santander cashback query 15th Sep 18 at 5:15 PM
    Hi all

For reasons to do with British Gas' illogical policies I'm now paying for my mother's dual fuel bills by DD.

It came to me that I should have set these up from my Santander account, however I already have my own fuel bill paid from it.

I can't find anywhere that moving these DDs to Santander would not be allowed (i.e. three DDs for fuel - 1 x BS for gas, 1 xBS for electricity and 1 x nPower for electricity).

Does anyone out there know if this would be allowed or not?

Well, I have 2x dd for communications - one for Vodafone and one for Sky. I get cashback for both. As far as I am aware the only restriction on cashback is for a mortgage - a maximum of 10 for paying 1000 mortgage payment. Which is why I pay 1000 a month to my mortgage!
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Thanks for that. I'll give it a try.

Yep an interesting observation - I was getting cashback at the energy rate on separate DDs for First Utility energy and First Utility broadband..

Shouldn't be a problem, its no different if you change energy providers and one month three or even four payments go out across the new ones and previous one(s).

An interesting quirk of the Santander 123 account which I've written about before is while its marketed as 1% cashback just for for Council Tax bills, it actually covers all direct debit payments to the council which for social tenants effectively gives you cashback on your rent (and contents insurance if you have it and I dare say garages as well).

You wont have a problem. I have 3 energy bills (2 properties) and 6 communication bills - all getting cashback.

No worries - we pay all our bills for both our main house and a flat that we rent for my husband (close to where he works). We get cashback on all of our gas, council tax etc etc for both properties.
