Ticket with wrong reg on 14th Sep 18 at 7:43 PM
Newbie so please be gentle. I have had a search and can't see the answer.

Husband parks in Oxford City Council Park and Ride most days. Today he had a mental block and put the first 2 letters of his old number plate in on the ticket machine. He received a parking ticked but they have put the wrong first 2 letters on too! They put *L and it is *H.

Where do we stand on this, yes he put the wrong number but so did they! He has all of his tickets for the last few years ( self employed) so he can prove he is a regular user.

    Thank you.

Go to pepipoo, where they will help you see this off.

IMHO they will tell you that a Council PCN with the wrong reg, has to be cancelled by the Council as it's unable to be enforced!

    You were lucky.

To speed it up, if you have a local Parking Shop, take the wrong PCN there, with a copy of your V5 logbook, and point out their error and suggest they save admin by cancelling it rather than spend man hours answering your appeal through various stages, when there can be no 'Notice to Owner' (the VRN cannot be 'put right') and it can't be enforced. This is going nowhere.

This advice would be different if this was a private scam PCN.
PRIVATE PCN? DON'T PAY BUT DO NOT IGNORE IT TWO Clicks needed for advice:
Top of the page: Home>>Forums>Household & Travel>Motoring>Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking - read the 'NEWBIES' FAQS thread!
Advice to ignore is WRONG, unless in Scotland/NI.
