Proof of id with Easirent car hire 12th Aug 18 at 5:42 PM
Hi, does anyone have any experience regarding the proof of id that Easirent require in Belfast.

    I am expected to bring:
    1) a credit card statement matching the credit card I am paying with (could be a problem as the bill goes to the other half, not me)

    2) a utility bill which can't be electronic but has to be less than 8 weeks old (sadly we have lots of bills but mostly electronic).

I've never come across this before and wonder why they need all this?

Has anyone fallen foul of the rules? Although noticeably cheaper for hire I'm wondering if I'd be better off cancelling and going with someone else.

    Thanks for any info.

Cancel and go elsewhere but make sure they know exactly why you have gone elsewhere.

Looks like Hertz want the same documentation now. Wonder whether the law has changed so it's a new requirement from everyone

I was going to rent in Spain and it said the credit card had to be in the name of the insured driver too. We couldn't do it any other way so didn't rent
    "Easirent" - the irony!
