Direct Debit Query 12th Aug 18 at 2:26 PM
If I have a direct debit with a company & cancel the direct debit what happens if the company wants to make a refund to me.
Can it still happen or not ??

It depends on the company. You may need to contact them to confirm your nominated account details for the refund. Others will pay you by cheque.

Yes, they can refund you simply by paying money into your account - much like you and I can do with online banking. Some may have differing systems that mean they haven't got the right processing capability to do things that way, or the staff you speak to may not be empowered to do things not written into their scripted processes.

My old electricity company said they'd refund me after my DDr was cancelled - and they did no problem.
