Ofcom's attitude is that it own mobile numbers not users, so you have little comeback if a number gets lost during a meltdown. Small amounts have been paid as compensation in the past but never the amount that account-holders feel they are due.

No, but the quoted post was referring to the potential likelihood of losing a number if a network went under without notice.

Didn't people on TPO lose their numbers when TPO switched from EE (I think) to 3, and some people lost numbers when Kontact Mobile closed down.

    Not what they told me
They said I would still need to top up by £10 every 4 months regardless of how much credit I had left, referrals or rollovers.

Good call, but no broadband or WhatsApp at the other end (it's for my mum).

Aside, I assume WhatsApp has now taken up the free calls worldwide market from Skype etc. Call quality good I assume?

Try the Ringo app, "Call Out", via an 0330 UK non geographic number, is 1.25p per min to Aussy mobiles, slightly less to land lines. Obviously those who haven't inclusive minutes need to add the cost of a call to an 0330 number, or go via WiFi, costs are shown on the app or web site.

To answer the OP's original question, where only one charge is shown it is usually safe to assume the charge is for both landlines and mobiles. Indeed, 1p mobile's website confirms this.

I say it as it is - you may not like that but what would you prefer? A string of false platitudes that are no help whatsoever just to make you feel better? If my advice has helped, please press the Thanks button over here ----------------V. Cheers

Where else does 500 1p voice minutes on payg ? Esp £30 for the year - great for OAP's only using 01/02/02 calls - dumping BT line rental who are reducing LR to £13.99 with Ofcom objectives(unconfirmed), but the reduced LR £13.99 includes nothing but BT shareholders bonus.

If you need loads of texts for a £5 a month on payg Asda on EE, 200m 2000 texts.
