AA Breakdown renewal... 10th Aug 18 at 7:37 PM
    Hi guys,

I've had my renewal through; standard Roadside (Silver Membership) and they want 68.55 off of me! I think joining members of AA/RAC get covered for about 60 but with TCB/Quidco.

Before I ring them up to 'negotiate' the renewal, has anyone got any recent tips/advice on how to tackle them? I understand AA are one of the best at price adjustment

Otherwise I'll probably just join AutoAid (offer from MSE) or rejoin as a new member of the AA/RAC.

I've always got any new customer figures by threatening to go to the RAC for a year and coming back. They seem pretty quick to adjust the prices

Have you considered Startrescue? Their prices start from 16.45, I used to be with them and on the few times I had to report a breakdown, they sent someone over very quickly who fixed the fault - IMHO as good as the likes of AA,RAC etc. Cheap doesn't always have to mean a poorer service!

Don't bother. I was with them for years and each renewal I had to argue for a better price. Been with Autoaid since via quidco and for something silly like 30.
