eBay damaged item return. 8th Aug 18 at 8:03 PM
Today I received an electrical item purchased on eBay from a private seller. The item was badly damaged and looked like it had been dropped.
I contacted the seller who has agreed the return and will chase compensation from the delivery company.
I have the return label and I can package the item up and send. Is there anything I should be aware or do? I have photos of the damage. I may be being paranoid but Iím nervous the seller might claim something was missing or there may be some other scam Iím not aware of?

Did you open a returns case on eBay for the return and how did you get a returns label?

Then you are fine. Return the item using the label and get a free certificate of posting from the post office. Do not try and add the tracking to the case as the eBay case will tell you it's not valid, it will add itself in a day or two. Once the item has been delivered, eBay will give the buyer 6 days to refund. It doesn't matter what the seller says, the refund will go through.
