Gurgling and Bubbling Sink 7th Aug 18 at 8:17 PM
Hi all, my kitchen sink has started to make strange gurgling and bubbling noises. I have had a plumber out who said it's not an issue in my property, but they seem to be getting more frequent. I've got some videos (with surround sound!) - would anyone with more knowledge be able to help?

    Any advice gratefully received!

Obviously U bend is blocked, so washing machine is filling up sink, isn't it?

Mine started doing this recently, and it proved to be a prelude to the sink blocking completely and the washing machine emptying on the kitchen floor. That was a fun weekend. Best to take action now.

    Many thanks both, much appreciated!

The U bend has been checked and its clear, and it happens even when the washing machine hasn't been used to days at a time. Could it still affect it or is it likely to be something else?

On the other hand, the sink in our bathroom has been gurgling for the last 20 years and never blocked up yet - go figure.

Soda crystals might be your best friend here, cheap as chips and great for unblocking sinks.
