Amex card upgrades 7th Aug 18 at 9:14 AM
Hi all, I have an Amex cashback everyday, and was thinking of upgrading to a gold card, but I donít want to close my current card and apply for a new one - that would affect my credit score.
Is there a way to upgrade my card but keeping the same account with Amex?

Possibly. Or just apply for the second without closing the first. Give them a call.

But any change in a made up credit score is no cause for concern. And in itself, a new card application will have little impact in how lenders assess your risk.

If you give them a call they may upgrade without a formal application

It's not an upgrade, they are different types of card therefore you would need to apply separately

He's right, you can't change between credit and charge products. And if its branded you can only change within the branded card type.

Would be a new application but they'd look at your previous AMEX history as well as credit scoring.
    Thanks
