    Depends if your operating system is 32 or 64 bit ..


    If you are unsure, use 32 bit

    Whilst I agree that 7-zip is probably the best alternative to winzip you could still get away with using the Windows standard extraction tool.

    Peazip is good as well as 7zip.

    Yes 7zip works well and can decompress most compressed archives. If you look at the options, run 7zip file manager as admin, you can adjust the context menu items as you want them ie extract to <folder> which is useful.

    Yup as above use the default Windows opener for ZIP files, or 7Zip is a good alternative, although I hate the interface. I can never just double click a ZIP file to open it for some reason?!
