This is what living a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade wage brings you.

My debt is as follows -

    Barclaycard - 10,903.09
    MBNA - 6,252.80
    Virgin - 5616.52
    Loan - 4000
    Overdraft - 168.37
    Car finance - 6000 (approx.)
    Total - 32,940.78

I also have my mortgage which is currently 60,998.98, I!!!8217;m just putting it here for my own reference and I have a student loan which is about 11,000 but of course that is the least of my worries.

Soooooo....here goes nothing! I hope I can motivate myself once and for all!!! Spent time over the years reading others and wishing it was me doing something about my debt, but of course done nothing about it other than increase my debt!!

    Wish me luck

Hi there, wishing you all the best.

Presents seem huge! I know I'm a tight so and so but that is massive.

Constructively, ditch the gym, valet your own car..2 birds 1 stone

    Thanks everyone

I can't ditch the gym as I just paid 150 upfront, and for once I have been going 3-4 times a week since I joined. I would like to lose a stone to drop the baby weight, can I still say that when the baby in question is 18?!

You are right about the present budget, that could get smaller. Everything is just so expensive these days, either that or I have expensive taste...probably a bad mix of both!!

It was a little bit tongue in cheek, meaning if you valet the car that will give you the excerise that you would use at the gym.. good luck anyway m

    Hi Champagne

    Good luck on your journey.

If I was you I would use all overpayments on this debt first

    1,134.65 0% October 2018

Its coming to its end and it would be a great win to have it cleared. Could you set yourself that as a target?

    Hi Gaffel,

Thank you! Yeah that is my priority with clearing that debt first. I had some charging me interest on Virgin, but managed to make some mini overpayments over this month so it is all 0% now.

1,134.65 I am hoping to make a good dent into this with my part time job earnings and clear it by September...fingers crossed!!!

I have 10 weeks until Septembers pay, so 113.45 per week...would be tight but do-able!

Don't have lunch with me, used to always bring it as canteen in work isn't great and expensive for what it is, but have fallen out the way of doing this. Will be making some stuff over the weekend and all systems go as of Monday!! 2.20 on some soup, could have made home soup for about 20p a portion.

I am going to give Virgin a call and see if they will reduce my internet. I don't have TV or phone only internet as we just use Freeview/Netflix/firestick and see if they can bring it down a bit from 25.24...every little helps.
