Shared ownership stamp duty 9th Jul 18 at 12:01 PM
    Hello.

Can't get my head around what stamp duty I will be paying when I stair case.

We purchased 25% of the property 6 years ago property valued at 180k my share 45k. At the time I didn't pay the stamp duty for the 180k. Kicking myself now for it.

We are now staircasing to 100% property valued at 280k so buying the remaining 75%at 210k

Will I pay stamp duty on the 210k only or will it be the 280k. Or the 210k plus the 45k???

    Thanks

The rules and guidance notes is here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/sdlt-shared-ownership-property

Your solicitor should also be able to calculate and explain it to you.
