Wireless keyboard for Smart TV 8th Jul 18 at 10:49 AM
    Hello all,

I need some help because I feel blinded by science!

I have a Sony TV 65XE8596 smart TV and I want to buy a wireless keyboard to work with it. Will a cheapie from Amazon or Ebay work or do I have to get one from Sony?

Apparently the older Sony TVs did not work with any other make but one person on their forum said they plugged in a cheapie bog standard one and it worked perfectly. I bought the TV last October.

If I'm reading the specifications correctly it should work just fine with a generic Bluetooth model:

    BLUETOOTH PROFILE SUPPORT

Version 4.1;HID (mouse/keyboard connectivity)/HOGP (Low Energy device connectivity)/SPP(Serial Port Profile)/A2DP (stereo audio) /AVRCP (AV remote control)

We have one. I thought it would be a useful complement to the TV.

Probably used it twice in five years.
