Dash cam recommendations please 7th Jul 18 at 10:24 PM
As above, along with justification for same, or desisting.

I'm heading off on another reasonably long haul in a few days - France>Mediterranean Spain backblocks, then back into France and old Var stamping ground before rtn>UK.

My wheels are entirely familiar with France, barely register in Spain :-)

Pro's and con's of dash cam would be appreciated, along with simple choice advice from this range, before MrT Direct closes down on 9 July.[hence finessing>'In Stock' items].

I'm not desperate about it, but increasingly, as a widely-travelled, experienced driver femme of biblical span, find myself wondering if it's now wise to have. I'll have a full trailer both ways; no idea if dash cam would have part to play in front and rear vision, which I see some offer.
    Thoughts?

Apologies for tardy thanks to you all, which I have now re-pasted 3 times.
Power outages have been daily events over last week, in what is already a notspot.
I appreciate your replies and will consider the info. therein.

I ordered this one just last month, never had one before.

No complaints from me so far, works like a charm and video quality is excellent.

what are the specs you are looking for? dash cams come in many different shape, sizes, qualities, etc.

    - for an overall decent cam, i would recommend this one from Amazon
    - for the cadillac of cams, although not worth it, a Garmin
    - for a great value, any one of these dash cams from XenonPro

    Nextbase 512GW,
Good points: good resolution, wide angle, get at least a 32gb sd card, easy to fit
Bad points: leave it in parking mode consumes the battery and every time you get in the car the thing starts recording a "protected" file thus consuming disk space that wont be overwritten. You have to manually offload the files or formats the sd card monthly (advised)

I have two of these: https://goroav.com/collections/desktop-cam/products/roav-dash-cam-s1

Bought one, thoroughly impressed, bought the second.

For me, one of the best features is that they are near invisible from outside of the car, and don't distract inside the car, due to the shape, size and way they mount to the windscreen.

    Highly recommended.

If you want inconspicuous then the Mobius is tiny. Mechanics don't notice it's there, which would be useful if I didn't trust them to do their job properly.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
