Free recipe ingredient kits from Simply cook 3rd Oct 13 at 6:58 PM
Simply cook are a company that deliver boxes to your door with the ingredients to make 4 meals for two. (fresh ingredients are not includes, so just the recipe, seasoning, oil etc)

The boxes are 10 but you can claim your first FREE BOX by entering code chef2 at checkout/signup page.

You have to enter your card details as it signs you up to a subscription, but you can cancel after the first one if you don't want any more.

Get your first box for 1 including delivery using code BN4777. I get a free box for each person referred.

These are really good. Not sure I'd pay full price, but definitely worth a try for 1. You get the spices and sauces for four meals delivered in a box small enough to fit through your letterbox, and you get a list of ingredients to buy yourself (e.g.. meat, vegetables, rice) and the cooking instructions.

Is this one of these schemes/scams whereby you get a sample for 'free' (just pay the postage), but have to give your credit card details - then find that they charge you an arm and a leg for a series of goods you don't want while you struggle to cancel your subscription?

No. Postage is included in the price of the box. It is a subscription service, but it's easy to cancel on their website. The normal price is 8.99 and you can choose with weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or one-off boxes. It's easy to change these settings online. Personally, I like the products, but think 8.99 is a little expensive, so I stopped the regular subscription, but may buy one-off boxes every now and again in future.

Firms like this tend to offer generous referral offers to build up their customer base quickly.

Simply Cook - trial for 3
Facebook keeps offering me a Simply Cook trial box for 3. After the Apprentice this week, I am curious about recipe boxes but before I sign up for the trial, I want to know how easy it would be to cancel without ever buying a full price one. Is cancellation online or do you have to phone? Don't want to get sucked into something it's hard to get out of!

According to their website you cancel by emailing them as per their FAQ's. 3 for a box of spices etc seems very steep to me.

Thanks. I didn't spot that on the website.
Actually I got it for 1 so not too bad. I wanted the recipe ideas - we're mainly veggie and 3 out of 4 boxes were things I would never normally cook.
If anyone else wants to try it for a pound, you can use code JP0511. In interests of being honest, I get a free box if you do. Hope I am not breaking the rules by posting that - I will delete it if I am.

1 recipe boxes at Simply Cook
Deal on Wuntu today for your first and fifth boxes of recipes from simplycook . com for 1 with subscription (Boxes 2,3 and 4 would be 9.99).

But if you're interested and not on 3 anyone can get the first box (still have to subscribe) of 4 recipes for 1 from Simply Cook's website using my referral code (others feel free to share) CF7378.

You will have to cancel the subscription after the first box or you will be charged for the next box (but you can schedule the next box for a month away to give you time to do so).

    Not worth the money
These are just a collection of herbs/spices and some recipes. Much cheaper to buy a few pots from the supermarket when you know the recipes you'd like to cook.

Anyone wishing to try SimplyCook, please use my referral link below and get the first box for just 1

SimplyCook allows you to select 4 recipe kits, each designed for 2-4 people. The recipe kit comes with an easy to follow step by step recipe card as well as all the culinary pastes, infused oils, garnishes, rubs, specialist stocks and herb/spice blends required for that recipe.

Although this is a subscription service you can cancel the subscription at any time, so it's worth signing up even if you only intend to use it for the first box.
