VW Finance, hmm... 6th Jul 18 at 5:35 PM
    Hi

We had PPI with car finance from 1999-2004.

VW Finance are saying the insurance was with Black Horse so we have to lodge our claim with them; surely if it's mis-sold, the complaint lies squarely with VW Finance?

    Anyone had similar issues?

    Thx, Andy

Ah, OK. Apparently the whole agreement was underwritten by Black Horse. I'm redirecting my claim that way.

If you bought via a dealership you are wasting your time.

The complaint lies squarely with the dealer that sold it to you. Not the lender.

However, as its 1999, the dealer wont be interested as its 5 years before they were regulated.

The person who sold it to you is liable, not the company that provided the finance or the insurance unless their agent was the one selling. As above though as you bought it in 1999 it's pre-regulation so there is no complaint as the dealership was not covered at the time.
