Bw legal letter of claim 4th Jul 18 at 3:51 PM
Have read the newbies thread and unfortunately couldn’t find clarification so was wondering if anyone could help. I have received a letter of claim which states that if I do not respond I “may” have a ccj entered against me. I was just wondering if this is in fact an LBC which I need to reply to or if I should wait for the follow up letter in a months time. Sorry that’s its another “should I ignore thread” but am unsure of the wording on the letter and whether I should reply.

    Appreciate the help

Treat it as one if you are of a nervous disposition. Leave it if to see if the claim if you are not rattled by their nonsense.
If you want to win - avoid losing first. Here are a few examples
    1. Failing to Acknowledge or Defend https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5760415
    2. Template defences that say nothing https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5818671&page=5#86
    3. Forgetting about the Witness Statement

How long have they given you to pay, and did the letter enclose any forms to return to them?

    You have a LBCCA

    Don't return their forms

See the newbies faq thread #2 for advice on responding to a LBCCA, and start reading up on defences in preparation for a claim

    Yes, it is a LBCCA

Did you receive proof of their claim ?

They need to show their claim and the reason why

The letter gives you the opportunity to deny their claim
    and offer your own proof

"if I do not respond I “may” have a ccj entered against me. "

The word "may" is a clue. BWLEGAL cannot issue a CCJ,
this must firstly go to court.
