Strangely some items were already discounted at 9am this morning, no banners or notice just said sparks preview at half price on the items page, couldn't find many items though.

I had the Sparks 'privileged access' link in an email this morning. This year discounts range from 50% downwards - and a lot of stuff looks overpriced.
I shall sharpen my elbows and have a look instore, for old times sake!

I got no preview email! I normally do, not sure what happened, was just wondering if anyone else had no email.

Went on to the M&S so called privileged Sparks sale site.Already many things had sold out so I assume some people get access before others.

I put 3 items in my basket after browsing for about an hour and by the time I came to pay, 2 of the items had disappeared from the basket. This happens all the time. Once in the basket the item should remain there for at least an hour to allow further shopping. I have complained but nothing changes.

If you buy each individual item as and when you see it, then you miss out on free delivery and it is so time consuming. Surely their system can address this?

I did not buy anything in the end because I was so annoyed at wasting my time on a sunny afternoon!!!!! Not a brilliant sale either.

(although I wont be doing it this sale, as the clothes are not very good)

Regarding stock levels, I was looking for an item on Monday at 9am which was showing as in stock and at half price a whole day before the preview had begun, but upon going to check-out it said out of stock, the same item was still showing in stock last night but disappeared at check out, so the stock levels are not to be trusted.

I went into a store today and the aisles of ladies' garments had been rearranged as if in preparation for a sale. I predict the signs will go up overnight.

Still no email yet... I went onto the website and logged into my sparks account; shows still as priority access but nothing to link me to the sale or to show in the main site what is/isn't in the sale.

ETA: I took a look at the website just to see if my initial assessment was unduly harsh - it was not, most are just hideous (just a handful are ok): https://www.marksandspencer.com/l/offers/sale/womens?facets=20448505,20448506,4294964042,4294964 038&slider_Current_Min=0&slider_Current_Max=140&so rtBy=product.price_from|0

What I cannot get my head around is how a 5'8" model in a size 8 dress can look stout! It must be the cut.
