Cracks above windows upstairs 14th May 18 at 9:55 AM
Hi, we recently moved into a house we have bought, it was built in 1998 and the homebuyers survey didnít flag any concerns other than a few whinges about the boiler being in the loft.

Weíve done a recce of all the rooms as Co aciousbjrs easy to miss things through house viewings and as my partner wants to decorate, iíd like an opinion on these as ideally we wonít want to decorate twice - also would just like a bit of insight into what causes it?

This shows the cracks, theyíre mostly hairline with the largest being the master bedroom in the final photo. Is this just bad plastering? Itís only on the upstairs windows that we can see.

In our old house we filled in these cracks with plaster mix over fibreglass tape, sanded smooth and then painted over - is that still the best approach?
