Personal number transfer. 14th May 18 at 6:31 AM
Just a quick question for those who have done this.
I am going to put my number on retention via the online service.
How long before the new V5c is received.
Is the retention certificate sent by post or printed on line or is there another method.
    Thanks for any info.

Put one on retention recently online. Old reg could go back on the car immediately, the new V5c was here in around 3-4 days.
Retention certificate was sent through by post, but was quick as well.

I placed one on retention then transferred it to my new car a couple of months ago and on both occasions received the new V5 within 3 or 4 days.

As long as you are not around a busy period e.g. 1st March/September then 4 days or so like others have said and certainly within the week.
I've been told/warned that I must be nice to ALL moneysavers. Even the fruit cakes that make up stories.
