Bonus awarded as shares. Tax implications 12th May 18 at 2:39 PM

Part of my wife's bonus will be in shares. I assume that these shares are only taxed when they're later sold and a gain has actually been made?

And if so would that be income tax or CGT?

Depends on the scheme. If the shares are issued in her name and can be sold immediately then they will be subject to income tax as soon as she is given them.
