2 year old parking fines - BW Legal are now involved 11th May 18 at 10:41 PM
Hi all. I am really hoping someone can help me. I have received letters from TPS and BW Legal. They are in relation to two parking tickets I received almost 2 years ago at my previous place of employment. I had a valid parking permit but I received tickets as I supposedly parked in a way that was an inconvenience to other users. Parking like this was the norm at that place of work. There were probably about 15 parking spaces for about 80 members of staff. This is why I paid no attention to the initial letters that TPS sent. I am not sure if I should just ignore these letters or contact BW Legal. BW Legal want me to pay 110 for the parking fines plus 75 in legal fees.

Would you be able to advise please?
    Thank you in advance.

Seriously - we are sick to the back teeth of answering Debt collector and BWL queries - Please read the Newbies Sticky and look-at some recent BWL threads. You won't need to go far down the board to find them.

BWL can try that on in court raising the eyebrows of a

Assuming this is just a letter and not an actual court claim.

this is a quick taster re the murky world of private parking ....

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.
