Credit file cleanup - partially satisified 9th May 18 at 9:31 AM
Hi everyone, just finished sending letters to all my creditors after i was made bankrupt in 2016.

Had two identical letter back from lloyds and halifax. The letter said they would now mark my accounts as 'partially satisfied' however if i pay the full balance they will change this to 'satisfied'.

I was under the impression that after discharge they should change the defaults to satisfied, or am i mistaken and partially satisified is correct?

    Thank you!

Partially satisfied would be right, if not fully paid.

There's little practical difference though, given the history of the accounts.

Partially satisfied is the correct marker in a bankruptcy, as it reflects that the lender was forced to settle for less than the full amount.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

So if when i check my credit file in a couple months, if the default date has moved to the exact date i was made bankrupt, and the accounts marked as partially satisfied, then im good to go? Thanks again!
