Help to Buy Scotland Equity Loan Percentage 8th May 18 at 12:38 PM
My husband and I are looking at a new build development in our area. The house price for the property we are looking at is 167,000.

I am wondering if anyone knows if you can get as little as a 5% equity loan from the government to use alongside a 5% deposit to obtain a 90% mortgage?

Any advice on Help to Buy Scotland would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure the scheme you are looking at involves and equity loan rather than shared equity?

It just says the equity share can be up to 15% so I don't see why you couldn't just use 5%. However, it might be worth using the full 15% because then you'd be in the 80% LTV bracket which should mean better mortgage rates and a wider choice of mortgages. Just something to think about.
