When you owe more than your annual net salary 25th Apr 18 at 5:10 PM
Today I cried, so many, many times. The fabulous lady at Step Change, the lovely man at Step Change, the lovely man at Halifax, Barclaycard, Aqua, I cried because they were all so kind. So fabulously lovely and I never expected them to be nice

I cried because it will take me 6yrs and 3 months to clear my debt on a DMP. I will be 48 and 11 months old when I am finally debt free. By that date I will have spent 30 years in debt. I have sacrificed so much due to the debt I owed...I've given up the chance to have more kids, to fall in love, to buy a house...If only I had been brave enough to go on a DMP 10 years ago I might have had a chance to have all of the above now.

So I intend to feel sorry for myself all night, to cry a bit more. Then tomorrow I will get up, put on my fabulous face and kick the world into touch.

I have no-one to blame for this but myself. Its all my doing. I earn a really good salary and if I wasn't in so much debt I could afford nice clothes, a new car (paid for) and a home. Thats what makes this all the more heartbreaking.

I owe the grand sum of 38k and some loose change. Thats slightly more than my net annual salary.

I have 7.50 in my sealed pot.

I intend to join the 1% challenge, now that there is a plan of attack for the debt

I need to build up an emergency fund - which I think will be the 1% challenge

I will also bore you all with my diary.

Day 1 is nearly done xx

    Hello all

Got a stroppy letter from Tesco telling me to contact them as I have ignored all calls (this is true) and they have rejected by I&E and payment offering. They have threatened debt collection agency etc. E-mailed SC as I'm away and cannot call them, waiting for a reply.

I'm beginning to wonder if self managed would be better - I know I keep saying this - anyway

1.50 on shopimum...big bar of chocolate, which is currently keeping me company

nothing budging on ebay or Etsy, but should be home on Sat and can make another run at things

Hope you are all well. Thanks for stopping by and supporting me

I would say to at least stay with SC until things settle down a bit & then you hopefully dont have to deal with the same stress.

    Hiya!

Have a bidder on one of my ebay items
Taking Fri off work so I can list multiple ebay things
applied for a new job...which I'm not dying about, but its close to home and less travel and therefore more money. I absolutely love my current job, but the atmosphere at work is toxic and there are two senior managers who are keeping notes on mistakes that everyone makes - like really, who does that childish behaviour

So fingers crossed i can get a new job and start to shift some serious debt

    So I have two interviews....whoop

I will know next week what day and time - my diary is mega full at the min and when it suits me it doesn't suit them. Apparently a lot of people don't work on a Friday...nice if you can get it

Sold my item on Ebay!! Whoop

Bought a label maker ages ago and its not working, so opened a case with ebay and off now to get a new one, from an actual shop where I can go back too should there be any issues...lesson learned

Chimney has been swept, thats it ready for the winter

Oil is ordered, again another job ticked off the list for a bit

ebay is next on my list of things to do..

Phoned SC - feel a lot calmer, which is good

Two loads of washing out on the line, a third one on.

I'm wrecked just reading all that has been accomplished today!

    Lots of Love

No idea how much I will save on fuel, its kinda salary dependant, if that makes sense. Like I could earn 6k less and be no better off, or earn the same and be 350 better off. It just the commuting time I will save, which is what is making me the most happy

I've had to dip into my entire emergency fund - but I suppose thats what its for.

I had to put the dog into kennels, while I was away with work. I'll back able to repay her cost from my mileage. So thats not sooo bad

Then I need the rest for the service on my car....again I can pay that back from my budget over the next 12 months

I've paid for a top up of oil, took that from my SC account, simply as I had it in various other accounts and couldn't be bothered with the faff of going to the post office and taking out and paying back money. So I'll move all that tonight and put that money back into SC account

I've a pile of things beside me to ebay, which I am going to get a shimmy on and do.

I've a few things I'm going to put on my local FB buy and sell and Gumtree...

no surveys from Profilic...obvs don't have enough going on in my life

Was reading someone else's post about micro jobs, gonna look into that later, not sure if I have any services they want, but a nosey does no harm

I am well short of my target for the month - 300....but I have been away for a week and am due away to go away again, so its not helping my failure to target

I'm thinking of giving up slimming world...I don't follow the plan, and part of me only goes for the company, but is 5 a week and I could spend that on something else, and I am also away in a few weeks time, so thats more money spent on it and I won't be attending class....you get the gist

I made a pasta dish and planned to freeze some of it, then I managed to leave it in the oven too long and burnt it...like really??? At times I feel like the world is actually putting all these obstacles in the way, just to wind me up and make everything so much harder. I know its only food, but its just typical of everything that is happening at the min

Thats all my moaning for the day

    Night all

So I got a new job...with paid overtime. I don't think I have ever had a job with paid overtime....its 40 mins from home and only a few grand less than I am currently on...so with O/T I will be OK

I've been stupidly busy, I apologise for not being around

All should be back to normal from tomorrow onwards

All EF are depleted, SC payment has started, I'm refusing to think about it and how much I have to do to get back on top, otherwise I will just have my brain explode

    Thanks for staying with me
