Fistral Beach Parking Fine 17th Apr 18 at 9:11 PM
Hi We recently had a fine of 100 or 60 if paid within 14 days, from "Smart Parking" on Fistral Beach Newquay. We either overstayed the time or did not pay for a ticket, it is no clearer on the letter. My wife is disabled and we only stayed for 1hr 15mins as she was having difficulty and needed to sit down on the beach before getting back to the car. We also have 3 children which made things more slow. Can anyone advise best way to contest this for best possible result?

The NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 tells you how to overcome this. Smart are easy to beat.

Do a forum search on 'Fistral Beach Smart' to pull up other threads. Read those from the summer of last year. Holiday season is hunting season at Fistral for Smart - a bit like the river crocodiles in the wildebeest migration.

Also read the case of Stacey81 who is severely disabled and had a long-running case with Smart at Fistral. It's a lengthy thread and difficult to plough through at times, but the message coming from it is that these scammers (Hansard 02/02/18) can be beaten.

We are alongside you in helping you through it all.
Please note, we are not a legal, residential or credit advice forum, rather one that helps motorists fight private parking charges, primarily at the 'front-end' of the process.

I will let the MP know, I will look at given my best shot and if rejected will go to the parking ombudsman, whose acronym I cant remember but I have checked the website.

You will win, as long as you use our templates. Easy, as long as the driver is not implied.

Don't check POPLA's website (it's misleading about appeal grounds). Check the NEWBIES thread.

Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
