    If i cancel my Debit card, is my employer still able to pay me to that account?

    Yes. Closing the account would limit them a tad though.

    Do you have online banking and a cheque book ? If so cancelling the Debit Card will only restrict your means of paying for anything.

    You will still get paid but won't be able to spend any money via a debit card. Although existing recurring payments may still be debited.
