This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Holly, take it easy, you've been through such a lot recently.

Nelski, I'm so sorry you're op has been cancelled but it might be best for your safety. It's just annoying that they are blaming you for it!

Only a day until dd returns from Japan, we'll pick her up at Heathrow but will keep Ziggypup for another week as dd has a busy time at work. Ziggy had a mobile dogwash this morning so she's all clean and fluffy, we just need to find some dryish walks for the next couple of days.

    Morning all,

Holly Please look at this link and contact them. I fear your going to go round in circles until you do.

I dont think i mentioned i fell down 4 of my stairs yesterday walking backwards down the stairs helping Blackun get down them. I think if i had not got so much 'padding' i'd have got a cracked rib or something as i landed against a sharp corner. Its one heck of a bruise though. Must be more careful in future.

Nelski I use a dessert spoon of washing powder in my mugs/spoons. Leave them to soak for an hour and any marks just melt off.

    Onwards and forwards,

    Have a great day all.

    Afternoon all
Neither of us here had a very good night, much chatting about " what ifs " etc .
The window changes are still ongoing, 2 today and the new back door has been changed to the other way round . However no one knows if the plasterer will make it as he's not answering his phone, so Mr Fix It is pacing and can't rest! I think he's going stir crazy too, so we may go out for a while tomorrow, although I really need to do some washing .
I have kept myself busy cleaning our bedroom from top to bottom. Phew one room done and dusted for now as it will need decorating in the future, but it is way down the list, the kitchen/diner is first in line !
I have decamped to the clean bedroom for the afternoon, as the front lounge window is next and it's not very warm downstairs, although the weather is brightening up.
We are going to treat ourselves to a chinese takeaway tonight and I'm looking forward to that. Diet gone for a Burton again.... oh well, never mind there's always next week .
Holly my lovely I will gladly send you the Sandman and if necessary his accomplice, the happy Sandboy. Failing that I will write you an essay, that would send anyone to sleep
Judi Ouch! Hope you are ok.
Nelski I use ordinary bleach too, then put them through the DW.
Hester hope you are no longer listing .
AOD good news re the retirement date, hope it comes around very soon.
I love comps many hugs. The situation with your mother is not pleasant and I understand how stressful it is.
NMLC hope your F/F arrived safe and sound
Hope everyone is having a goodish day, hugs to all and "get well soon" wishes to the poorly.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

Had a lazy morning till I realised window cleaner was in the back garden. Hastily got up and dressed and agreed she would call this afternoon for the money. Quick shower, shampoo and change of clothes and then went to post office to get some money after checking current account online.

Tumble drier has been on and a load of dry laundry put away. Had a late breakfast of turkey rashers and scrambled eggs and planning pork chop with chilli beans or green beans tonight. Spent five minutes on a vibrating plate and will do some more tonight hoping it will help my joints and want to strip the super king bed and put new bedding on later. Getting my hair done on Monday and visiting older dd who has been poorly tomorrow afternoon but no idea what is happening on Sunday with family.

    Holly

I agree with contacting PALS, MIND or MP or all three but can see why you want to discuss things with gp first. Gentle virtual hug and support.

Can't wait for some decent weather - even just a bit of blue sky and not being so cold would be a help to us all.

    Hugs to all.

I'm back from the dentist and now am very poor, it cost £160 and he thinks eventually the nerve will die and then it will have to be a root canal and crown, yick.

I think he may have put too much anaesthetic in, the injection was well over 3 hours ago and my face is still numb from one cheekbone down to halfway down my neck.

I have had some toast cut into thin strips so I could just sort of post it in and have managed not to bite self.

Its all me me me today, sorry folks.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Your welcome. We all have 'me' days. I had my 'me' day yesterday.

I'm a bit better today thankfully.

The GP I saw today was more about making sure that I am ok and will be able to keep safe over the weekend as this has upset me so much. I'm also seeing another doctor tomorrow who is covering the Saturday morning surgery for people who work for support.

My day has been quiet and stress free!

Apart from getting a good soaking going to the bank and building society this morning I've not moved much. I'm enjoying a good read.

DM has been weeding out one of her medical info boxes so I've now got a whole bag of papers to take home and burn. She found stuff she'd forgotten about like having a plate out in her foot when she had a toe fused back in 1986.

I think I have the first insect bite of the year. An itchy red mark is on my left foot. DM has given me a bottle of tea tree oil with a BBD of January 2005 and a tube of Boots antiseptic cream too old to even have a BBD.

Sorry to read of ongoing woes and problems.
