Santander - Cant move to FoR if in process of moving? 12th Apr 18 at 4:33 PM

Our fixed rate mortgage with Santander just ended and is moving onto the SVR at a 250 per month increase. The FoR is only 125 a month extra but they say I can't transfer if in the process of selling. Our house is currently under offer... why do they say this? I obviously don't want to pay an extra 125 a month if I can avoid it. Would they even know if I just declared we weren't in the process of selling? Our chain isnt complete yet so looking like it could be another 6 months or so.

I believe that would be a fraudulent mortgage application so not a good idea.
