Are Facebook Ads Worth it? 11th Apr 18 at 3:35 PM
Okay, I have a small website and small associated Facebook page with about 200 followers/likes. I recently ran an ad on Facebook with he intention of gaining more followers and noticed that the followers I got seemed a bit vacant. Their profiles were sparse, or quite new accounts and did not engage - fair enough if they don't like the content but then why like the page?!

Was wondering if anyone - beyond those with large budgets - saw any benefit from these ads?

I run an adblocker so don't see most of them. Those that spam the local "stuff for sale" page get the crap ripped out of them because people are sick of seeing them.

I just kept telling Facebook that the ads were irrelevant to me & now I don't get any.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I've never seen an ad on Facebook.

I use Facebook Purity, which lets me decide what I want to see.

It will depend what you sell and how good your content is.
Facebook adverts just put your content before more people, so maybe a few thousand instead of a couple of hundred.
If you sell items for 100 then it might be worth a 10 advert for an extra 1000 people to see your post and for you to gain just one extra sale.
If you sell items for 1 then a 10 advert to get one extra sale would be a total flop.

Personally, I advise people not to buy anything advertised on Facebook, it's not a safe sales platform.

    Thanks for this.

Was definitely just a trial to see.

Leaning more towards Adwords at the moment, again not overly convinced by this either, however, it seems to have better targeting .. i.e based on intent/search rather than interests. Early days and still learning the ropes of this stuff
