DRP taking further action. 11th Apr 18 at 2:20 PM
    Hi there!
I hope Iím doing this correctly.

I have received upto 6 letters from the DRP in relation 5 occasions where my car was parked in a private car park.

The charges are excessive being £160 per letter they have sent and I refuse to pay the amount. I have ignored all letters from UKCPS Ltd and they have now referred this to DRP who have given me until the 18th of April to pay, and I have ignored them also so far.

Just needing your advise, what do I do from here?

    1. Read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 to understand the game you are now embroiled in (including why you should never reveal who was driving the vehicle - your opening post needs to be edited to reflect that advice).

    2. Read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 which tells you how to deal with debt collectors.

DRP are harmless, powerless and the only 'further action' that they can take against you is to send you another letter, then another, and another ........, for about 6 months, then they crawl away.

Don't ignore a Letter Before Action/Claim or real court papers - come back if you get either for help here.

Please confirm the parking company involved - NCPS is not recognised. Absolute accuracy in using acronyms of parking companies is essential as there are many with very similar abbreviations.

Please note, we are not a legal, residential or credit advice forum, rather one that helps motorists fight private parking charges, primarily at the 'front-end' of the process.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Iíve edited the thread with the correct details. I have since received a further 6 letters from DRP, am I okay to carry on ignoring these? Or should I appeal?

Follow the advice in #4 of the Newbies FAQ thread

There really is no need to post about the letters you get from drp!

much too late to do any appeal, appeals must be made within 21 days to IPC operators

you should not have to be repeatedly told to IGNORE , that advice has NEVER changed

The only action DRP are taking is to print a threatening template A4 sheet of paper, to put it in an envelope, seal it , frank it and post it, because that is all they can do

its a formal LBC or an MCOL you cone back for advice on , which is dealt with in post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread

at this time you are stuck on post #4

    Newbies !!
Private Parking ticket? check the 2 sticky threads by coupon-mad and crabman in the Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking Board forum for the latest advice or maybe try pepipoo or C.A.G. or legal beagles forums if you need legal advice as well because this parking forum is not about debt collectors or legal matters per se
