Insurance on cheapish Laptop - worth it? 11th Apr 18 at 12:30 AM
    Hi guys,

Bought a cheap laptop from Argos just before x-mas 2017.
Here is laptop = D&G Argos Breakdown Care
While on the till, I also acquired insurance at a rate of 6.89 with "D&G Argos Breakdown Care".

I read online that people ought to avoid insuring electrical goods that depreciate in value over time. But looking at the website, it says it covers any "immediate accidental damage " & unlimited repairs. Given that a laptop would invariably encounter slight problems, or become slow; it seems useful to keep in place?

Am I right, or was I swindled at argos.

    I would appreciate some opinions.

    Thanks a lot,

This won't cover software problems so 'becoming slow' won't be covered.

It probably only covers mechanical and electrical breakdown plus the accidental damage.

I assume its 6.89 per month?

Sister claimed on her insurance for a laptop and then wished she had not.

After the excess and the piece of junk they replaced it with, she would have been better off just going out and buying something. and not claiming.
