AVIVA withholding Pension Transfer Form 9th Apr 18 at 12:00 PM
My husband has an old Aviva pension. He is now a Royal Mail employee and wants to transfer this Aviva pension over to Royal Mail. We've phoned them 4 times and been told we need to fill out a form. They say they'll post it and email it and we've still not received it. Without this we can't transfer it. I've also written to them asking for it and explaining that we're missing out every day they don't send it and not even the courtesy of a reply. Any ideas??

I'm by no means an expert in this field but I thought you would complete a form with the receiving scheme (Post Office), providing the details for the Aviva scheme and they would initiate the transfer (assuming there are no other pension/scheme/benefit considerations).

This is what I have had to do when I transferred SIPPs (pension) from one provider to another.

Actually, Aviva often transfer without discharge forms.

Have Royal Mail submitted the transfer request to Aviva yet?

Is this an original Aviva or an old AXA, Friends Life, Friends Provident case?

Good call, maybe I'll ask the other way round. I know we've moved one before and we did it with the one we were withdrawing from not the one receiving so interesting thought. Will give that a try.

Nowadays, many pension providers have stopped issuing discharge forms and you only need to start the transfer process with the receiving scheme.
