Furniture problem 9th Apr 18 at 10:00 AM
I bought a dining room table and chairs in November 2015 and a problem has developed with the table. The retailer initially said they couldn't do anything as it's out of warranty, but then offered to collect and refund me for the table after I quoted the Consumer Rights Act. However it is a discontinued line so I can't get a replacement now and I think it would be hard to get another table that would match the chairs. Do I have any right to insist they take them all back?

Ah, they've actually offered to take them back now so there's no problem! Mods please feel free to delete this post.

I wouldn't delete the post, rather leave it going and if/when you receive your refund (especially if you get a full refund), post the name of the company concerned.

If they give a refund without asking you to prove that the problem was due to a manufacturing defect then they are going beyond what the law expects them to do and if they give a full refund, again, this is above what they have to do as the law allows them to make a deduction from the refund to allow for the 2+ years use you have had from the goods and companies that do this deserve to be praised on forums such as this.
