Best travel cards 8th Apr 18 at 12:53 PM
    Hello,

I know there is a handy guide, which I have read but I'm not sure which to choose based on my needs so I thought I'd ask the people that know best:

I'm doing a fair bit of travelling this year, likely mostly credit card spend but I will be using cash too. I'd like to use Apple Pay but not essential. I'd like to check spend on app so something easy to use and 'clean' and fast. From my own research I can see:

Halfiax - Mastercard so better rates? Apple Pay. Cash charge but can pay over internet banking

Tandem - Mastercard. No Apple pay. 0.5% cashback! Charge for cash but can pay on internet.

Barclaycard - Visa so rates slightly worse? Free cash withdrawals (ends in 3 years though)

Whats your experience with these? Cheers

Santander Zero. Same deal as Halifax Clarity, though (at least in my case) ATM withdrawals limited to 300/day. 500 with Clarity.

Looks great, thank you. Any idea why this is not listed in the MSE travel section? Can I use Apply Pay? Whats the app like?

These cards are great - but Barclaycard charge no interest on withdrawal and the others do! You don't have to pay this off til end of the month. Is worth picking Barclaycard over the others for this reason?

    Whats the Creation app like?

Don't rely on any one card when traveling, take several, any card can fail for various reasons or be lost etc.

The Tandem app is rubbish, hopefully will improve. Apart from credit cards there's Starling Bank, Monzo and Loot.io

Does anyone else have any experience of this?

A couple of searches at the same time will be fine.

But in any case, why let the credit score tail wag the financial dog?
