    Mk1 to mk2 focus 14th Mar 18 at 10:02 AM
Hi I've just upgraded from a focus mk1 to a mk2, I had a couple of questions if anyone can be of help.

Do any parts transfer from the old to the newer one
    E. G. Wheels tyres bulbs etc I don't expect it all to.

Also what do cars go for scarp these days I've been advised 120 at auction but if someone offers to pick up for 80 just take it, but don't fall for the 'you have to pay us to take away'.

If a car is taken for scrap and I do say take off the lights, bulbs, wheels etc will they still take it or is it usually the whole car they want.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Wheels and tyres will, some of the engine stuff will. If you're scrapping it leave it as it is, in fact if you're taking it in yourself throw anything metal you can find in the car to up the weight and your payout.

Wheels won't transfer - mk1 4 stud, mk2 5 stud - but some tyre sizes are the same. Fog light / reversing light fits pre face lift mk2. Many bulbs are the same. Can't think of anything else that fits. Some scrappies will want to tow it on a dolly so may need wheels.

Most online car scrapers want the car complete or they can or will drop the price

One I used wanted to take off 20 for a removed radio from 1992!!!!

There will be more items on the car that will sell quicker than the doors, trim and seats, trouble is, as mentioned, the price will drop from the breaker if they are missing.
Adding weight only works if it's going to a scrap merchant, not a breaker. Again, I'm sure a breaker will reduce the price if it's full of crap.
