Deferred state pension lump sum-timescale 11th Mar 18 at 6:48 PM
I have deferred my state pension for almost 3 years and as my retirement date was pre 2016 i am allowed to take a lump sum. I know this may not be the best use of it but I have debts i need to clear with the lump sum. I have "activated" by pension to start on 10th April. Has anyone got any experiences with the timescale that can be expected to get the lump sum???

The lump sum is not looked at until after your start date, they normally get in touch 3-5 weeks with your deferal amounts

Do you intend to activate it, get the lump sum & then defer again to increase the actual pension?

They haven't told me when i will get the lump sum. I would just like to know when others have been paid the lump sum as I want to arrange to pay my mortgage off.
