Balance Transfer problem 11th Mar 18 at 3:54 PM
    Hi,
I've just opened up a Sainsburys Credit Card which has 36 months 0% so i could transfer a balance to it. I had put the details of the transfer i wanted to make but i have been informed that they couldn't do it. The transfer amount is well within the limit given by Sainsburys but they say the card i want to transfer from isn't compatible with their system? (Vanquis)
I have other cards which are all 0 balance so i could transfer the balance to one of them first then onto the sainsburys but that would mean I'm paying 2 x the fees. Any ideas of a work around?
    Thanks

There are often difficulties with Vanquis transfers.

Does the Sainsbury's card offer a money transfer option?

Sainsbury's don't currently offer a card with 36 months at 0% on balance transfers so not sure which card you have exactly. Is there an offer on purchases?

At least one person here did manage to get their new card provider to manually do a balance transfer from Vanquis.

Do you have a card that will transfer money to a bank account? Barclaycard usually offers this.

Withdraw cash from another card via a cashmachine, use the cash to pay off Vanquis balance, then transfer balance to Sainsburys card? The most you can withdraw from a cashmachine is probably 300, so this may not be a viable option.
