Paid company on day it went into administration... 9th Mar 18 at 9:54 AM
Last week I paid a (rather large) deposit on something and have just found out why the company have not been answering the phone - they have gone into administration.

From my reading just now it looks like I've got little hope of seeing that money again. I paid by bank transfer not credit card.

However, they day I did the transfer was the exact same day it went into administration. Does that affect the status of my money at all?

It might do; normally the firm, (in admin), will have their bank account frozen so the exact timing could be crucial.
(Speak with your bank to find out when you funds cleared in the other firm's account).

Try asking your bank if they can re-call the money - if the firm's accounts were frozen before your transfer hit your money may still be in a holding account.

    Good luck.

P.S. I know this won't help, but I'll say it before someone else does. Always pay something like this by credit card!

    Yeah. Lesson learned I guess.

Phoned my bank but they said there's nothing they can do other than suggest getting in touch with the liquidators.

    I looked up the company

    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/06921143/insolvency

It seems they've been in administration before, and "due to be dissolved" November last year. Administrator is same company, and director is the person I've dealt with. Does this mean that the company I've dealt with is a new one with slightly different name? Or does it mean it wet into administration before, and then came out of it again?

You must have paid a different company as Digetex Ltd was dissolved in November 2017.

yes, a call to the administrator confirmed it's a different company with very similar name. Effectively the same people though.

But they're a different legal entity. So who was the legal entity that you entered into the contract with?
