Child tax credit and child benefit 7th Mar 18 at 5:37 PM
Oh boy this is a strange one.

I'm moving away soon to join my partner and then I will be heading off to college (woo!)

Trying to do some research, and i've read up because i'm going to be in approved education that the child tax and benefit should still be there.

because he is my partner, is he technically able to claim for me for child tax credits or would that be illegal/fraud etc?

    cheers.

You're his partner not a child he is responsible for so no he couldn't claim CTC for you. That would be all kinds of creepy.

Another silly question but here goes:

will my parents have to ring the gov to tell them ive left or would it automatically be done as id be moving all my personal things like doctor records etc?
