I was really looking forward to this, but found it a disappointment
I'll listen to the next episode but if it doesn't pick up might drop it.

This is the sixth reprise of HHTG - hence "hexagonal phase". I listened to two or three, but they are not as good as the original, which was both a product of the genius of Douglas Adams, and of their time.

Stephen Mangan read a version of this on radio 4 a few years back:

.. and that wasn't that funny either.

Hope the original H2G2 crew can make a better job!

I'll give it a go, as they've managed to get most of the original cast back together

Having listened to Part 1 now, I felt it spent far too long with the Book doing recaps on the prior series. Didn't get going until part way through.

Was good to hear many of the old cast again, perhaps it will improve in part2?

I loved it originally. I timed housework around it as I think it was on at 1.30.

I'm too big a fan of the original books, radio and TV, I don't think that I would like the new writing even if it is based on Douglas' original words.

    I'll give it a miss.

Ok, second episode was a little better IMO, more entertaining and the story moved on satisfactorily.
Will give it another go next week

Yep enjoyed the "fat @rse", Hillman Hunter, and Constant Moan episode more.

For anyone interested there is an extended version (extra 10mins) of part one, on the BBC comedy of the week podcast
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p060h1b2

Haven't found an extended part2 yet, perhaps it will appear on 4extra?
