Slimming in to Spring - Slimming World Support Thr 5th Mar 18 at 11:12 AM
Shiny new thread, with all the info carried over as follows:-

Slimming World and Food Optimising is a plan for life, it's not a quick fix and you should look at weight losses over a period of time. There are no prizes for speed of weight loss.

You need to commit to making changes to the food that you buy and how you cook it, because what you've been doing in the past hasn't got you to where you want to be.

You can't use parts of the plan that suit you and forget the rest.

If you are not prepared to make a commitment to change the behaviour that has got you into your current situation then nothing is going to change, and above all things, you need to be honest and accountable for every single mouthful of food that passes your lips.

You need to care enough to take time out to pre-plan your slimming campaign. Look again at the menu plans and see the variety and volume of food you can eat. All you have to lose is the weight.

Slimming World has been successfully helping people lose weight for over forty years, so trust them and read your Food Optimising books again and again.

Food Optimising is easy but life isn't. Losing weight is a battle but you have the battle plan in your food optimising book, your secret weapon is free food, and that, together with your healthy extras and syns add up to a healthy way of eating that can (and should) be a life plan. Success is there waiting for you………go for it!

If you fancy having a go at EE, here are the official 'rules' to ensure that you not only lose weight regularly but get all the nutrition your body needs to function well:-

    Extra Easy:

    1: Choose your Free Food

Most of the food you eat should come from the free foods list – so that’s pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish, fruit and vegetables.

And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Speed Foods!

    2: Choose your Healthy Extras

Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread, nuts and cereal.

3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day

    -------------------------------------------------------------

If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check:-

    1. Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free

    2. Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)

    3. Whether you're counting everything that should be counted

    4. Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured

    5. Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........

A: increase the proportion of Speed Foods to half of your plate
B: switch to more Speed Foods

    or

C: try Extra Easy SP - details are on this link - https://www.minimins.com/threads/extra-easy-sp-plan.348340/

And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!

Remember we are all here to support each other, and to have fun, and to share in any little disappointments.

Link to the List of Healthy Extras as at April 14

Hello frogga. Good to see you posting. How are things with you?

It's a 'fun' break. Just me and my daughter. Going to London for her belated birthday treat.
I will enjoy it, but it will be a bit stressful at times. London is so big, busy and full of southerners. Also not great with her being on crutches, but I have a route plan to see and do everything she wants with as little walking as possible.

Hope you have a great time. I try to use buses as much as I can in London as you get to see more that way. As well as Pret a Manger and Subway (for lunches), I like eating in Garfunkels as they have a good salad bar. There aren't as many branches as there used to be but they still are in central places.

There are ways of having dairy that aren't milk or cheese: yogurt, tinned salmon and sardines, greens like spinach and kale. I like all these so the fact that HEAs are so tiny isn't really a problem.

Hope you have a good evening poohsticks. I've been to these live showings but only opera so far. I'd like to try a play or they also do ballet and art exhibitions. The best are when it's live from New York Metropolitan and everyone takes their dinner in hampers. Great fun and very easy to be SW friendly (except the wine).

    ETA: Well done ilovetea!

    Hello Maman

    I'm alright, same old Frogga.

I'm flapping a little bit Going into hospital tomorrow to have a lumpy bump removed from my abdomen. They don't think it's anything to worry about, just a yucky thing that needs to go away I've been cancelled 3 times due to all the issues over Christmas with the NHS. I had my pre op checks in October. They weighed me and I was 13 1/2 st. She said that was ok but I figured I had a couple of months to lose some more and I'd be in a much better place. But now I'm 16st again

I phoned them in the week as I was terrified that they would say they wouldn't do it anymore. The Nurse was very kind and she said the extra weight 'may cause the op to be more difficult, but that was their problem' and I mustn't worry. But I am really worried. I'm worried that tomorrow when they see the size of my belly they won't have a knife big enough to wade through the Cadbury's Crème Eggs and they'll send me back to the pond.

I've had months to 'fix' myself. Yet her I STILL AM! Arghh I could throttle myself with a skipping rope and smack myself in the face with a wet flannel

Anyway how are you matey? Still plodding like Beanie?

Forget SW and weightloss until you're fully recovered then you can draw a line and start afresh.

I'm doing fine, thank you. I'm still at target or thereabouts. Still lurching between my ideal weight and the extra pounds that invariably come my way when we travel or eat out. But that's RL and I enjoy it.

Thank you friends. I knew if I came on here you would make me feel better. I've been told I should be off work for 6-12 weeks so that would be an opportunity to get my webbed feet out of the cake tin and start pulling myself together

Should have realised it was you Frogga!

Hope all goes well tomorrow. As Maman says you should forget about losing weight until you feel up to it.

You can give yourself a kick up the bum once you're feeling better.

Urgh +1.5lb for me this week. Was awful over the weekend and am paying for it! Not going to get any better either as I'm out again on Friday night (although not drinking so hopefully not too bad) and then on saturday I have a hen do and I do want to have a drink as I've not been out-out for ages!

I've been at the gym 5 days this past week so it's very frustrating that even with all the exercise, a couple of off plan meals can lead to these gains. I'll keep plodding on though!

Back to the council saga, expected work to be done today. Expected an early start but turned up in afternoon THEN only measured up ffs . This job has needed doing for 4 years and has been photographed and measured up half a dozen times. Now waiting AGAIN! Worried about next week now, are they coming to do my bathroom or just measuring AGAIN.

Oh and am I being unsympathetic to put my earphones in and turn my music up to drown out hubbys coughing?

Hello Froggo. Hope today goes well.

Off away today. Presence on here over the next few days will be dependent on signal.

    Today's plan:
Breakfast - scrambled egg and mushrooms
Lunch - service station. Hoping I will be able to get a salad or a jacket potato
Dinner - cafe at Harry Potter studios. Not sure what I'll have but will try and pick well

    HA - milk
HB - possibly bread if I have a sandwich.. if not taking some cereal bars with me
Syns - sure there will be plenty
Weight loss start date: 3rd January 2017
    Weight loss total: 53 lb

Morning everyone, still getting to know you all, so forgive specifics. However, I nearly splattered my water over pooter reading Frogga's post! Despite all of her (?) worries, still managed to post an hilarious picture of surgery. Hope it all goes well, you have been worrying about it which is natural, so eye off ball a bit, but tomorrow is a new day and a new you, so once the medical bits are dealt with, you will be able to focus and lose again.

Big day today, weigh in If nothing else, as I said to my mum, my hair cut is bound to account for some loss, which is the psychological bit I need.

Today is a bit hap hazard as I was out late last night, so what is in the bag today is....

Breakfast - Chicken in wholemeal roll
Lunch - Ryvita & cheese, just realised I forgot tomatoes Followed by apple & pear salad, got a yoghurt so may have that with it.
Dinner - not sure yet as won't be home until about 9, so will probably be quick & easy.

    Have a good day everyone
A smile costs little but creates much
