Key point ban does not apply if its the users fault.

Howwever that said, if a supplier doesn't do his best to try and get it right in the first place. To make sure that their systems are robust and their data is correct and up to date and just actually do what they are supposed to do then they shouldn't be allowed to go back as far as they like to recover losses incured by their incompetence.

I'm guessing that this has all been prompted by the recent spate of BG customers who were lumbered with back-bills due to "corrections".

I've no doubt that bills will rise as a consequence of this and estimated bills will get inflated to ensure that the supplier is on the "right"side of any adjustment. It will probably also accelerate the imposition of smart metering.

Is this not just a stiffening of the Code of Practice which the larger suppliers already adhere to ??

Btw, not even all of the Big 6 are actually signed up to the Code of Practice

It is just adding to the code of practise and the Bolshevik Broadcasting Commissariat again tells people you will not have to pay more than 12 months of billing. This is wrong, if the consumer on DD takes the cheapest offer, deliberately!, and then does not give updated reading, in hope of avoiding paying, it is of no help.

Nor does it actually put you on the best deal.
