Onwards and the debt goes downwards! 24th Feb 18 at 5:59 PM
Hi All Old diary is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=1000559 I can't do the posh linky things.

Things are all changing in the Lucielle household. DS1 arrived back from New Zealand and has moved out to start his new job. Spent most of last week building flat pack furniture from the well known store. DD1 starts her daytime lambing job before progressing onto lambing job number 2 which is nights. DS2 is still doing his apprenticeship and just bought a new to him car. DD2 is just coming to the end of her lambing job and is then back to college.

Our debt has crept up again, mainly through helping kids with their insurance, which they will pay back. Currently its at 14k, not great but doable. It hasn't helped that I needed new glasses and DS1 took his washing machine back so had to purchase a new one.

I have also just finished at my job of 9 years and aim to work with OH and develop our business further. Watch this space.

Thanks chaps, its nice when people post. HSBC card is now dead. I'm not closing it a the moment as I might need it to transfer the Lloyds card which is a biggie and probably wont be cleared before the 0% runs out.

The mortgage is still trying to be sorted but because its a holiday cottage and on the Isle of Skye its a bit like fitting a square peg in a round hole.

Went to my friends mums funeral on Tuesday, the church was packed. She was a lovely lady. RIP

Can't believe its nearly 12 months since my mum passed over. Time flies.

It's like wading through treacle. Hoping there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Should know more by the end of the week.

It's naturally our quiet time but hopefully things should start to get busier.

You've come such a long way from when you started mse. It gets wearing though doesn't it - constantly watching the pennies. Looking forward to hearing about the light turning back on for you.

I've had my eyes tested and need new glasses, luckily contact lens stayed the same. Only had 55 in the glasses account and my new ones were 180. So I phoned for a balance on my M&S card which was 240.92 Raided the clothes pot and glasses pot that came to 110, had 40.92 left from OHs wages and I had 40, so paid off 190.92. Should clear the balance tomorrow when DS2 pays his board.

Then its back to focusing on the Lloyds card which is 0% till July and currently stands at 6995

M&S card hopefully clear but I have a sneaking feeling there might be a Kindle purchase that has gone on. I'll check on Monday when all the payments should've cleared.

We have DS1s collie dog here and currently she's whelping. We sorted out the pen on Sunday and rigged up the heat lamp etc Unfortunately the first puppy was dead, currently she has 1 live one and I'll go and check her shortly. Now she has a live one she let me take the dead one away. I'm glad she's started as she looked really fed up.

I had a phone call off Amazon this morning saying they were going to renew my prime and if I didn't want it to press 1. I didn't think I had Prime but thought it could be my sons. Anyway I pressed 1 and a lady started talking me through how to cancel it and which website to go on etc. When it got to the point it wanted me to download teamviewer alarm bells started. I told her I'd phone her back and got a number. Luckily I have an Amazon handler (after recently starting selling on there) so I emailed him all the information and he said it was a scam and he was passing it over to his fraud department. The website did look like it was Amazon so keep your eyes peeled peeps!

2 live puppies and 3 sadly didn't make it, 2 born dead and one got squashed by mum. I'm hoping DS1 will keep one as we have one of each flavour. This dog was his first working dog he got and will probably be her last litter.
I've bought another slow cooker a 6.5l one. The smaller one I got can't cope with the quantities. It's not wasted though I'll put it in the Skye house.

Planning on having gammon tonight. Must go and put the shopping away.

    Glad some puppies survived.

Ouch to the glasses bill. You've reminded me that I should get my eyes tested soon - I think I can get some money back from work so will look into that.

Sadly the boy puppy didn't make it. We spent ages trying to get him warmed up, which meant him nestling in my cleavage for half an hour, a frantic dash to the vets for teats and moved inside (even though his mum isn't house trained she's doing very well). Just hoping we can keep the last one going. My dogs are bit put out as they've been banished from most of the house so they don't stress mum out.

It's a beautiful day, so I think we'll head off to the beach for a couple of hours and let them have some fun there.

Both are doing well, though I do dread going in the kitchen in the morning. One is to see if the puppy is ok and the other to see what messages mum has left through the night. I don't think the floor has been mopped as often!!!!

The beach was great and saw 2 amazing kite surfers who were doing jumps and speeding through the surf at a great rate of knots. We did go out for lunch but just had soup, it was smoked haddock chowder (very much like Cullen Skink) and absolutely delicious.

Came home and started watching a new series on Netflix which DS2 recommended.

We tried to take the dogs for a long walk yesterday but they were behaving appallingly so that walk was curtailed before our blood pressure went through the roof! Had soup for lunch which was Pea and very nice. Cooked a roast for tea and DS1 came over to see his dog and puppy. Think she's going to be called Gin.

Off to work shortly, just waiting for the washer to finish then I can get the clothes out. Should be dog agility tonight (should go to misbehaved dog class instead!) so as long as I don't get too frozen I'll be going along with a chosen mutt.

Tea for me and OH is salmon and I'll do DS2 some posh burgers from the freezer as long as I remember to get them out before I go.

The one puppy is thriving and making lots of cute noises when mum goes for a walk. She's a week old today!

I did go to dog agility and took the younger dog, she did very well considering how long its been. Played badminton on Tuesday but didn't go to the pub afterwards and last night we both went swimming. I did 40 lengths but the pool is only 13.5m long and I worked out that I'll need to swim 120 lengths to do a mile. Something to aim for. I wish I could do front crawl properly. I either do my arms and legs and don't breathe or breathe and not get anywhere! My neck ends up aching from doing breast stroke.

We're off out on Saturday night. It's my friends birthday so off for a meal and we'll pick them up as her OH can't drive at the moment so if we get them she can have cheeky sherbert!

Had a meeting with Yell the other day about our package, we pay a lot of money for little return so are planning on dropping some of it. She pointed out that they could run a FB advert for us for a minimum of 6 months. When we cancel the other packages it would still mean an extra 50 on top of what we were paying a month. I have always said online is the route for us. Just in a quandry, thoughts welcome.

Paid 50 off the Lloyds card. Still eating that elephant one bite at a time.

Thanks Beanie. Still pondering. Shopping came in ok last night and a rough meal plan done for the week ahead.

Change of plan for tonight, Italian was fully booked so suggested we go to the place we had the lovely soup at last week. I really hope they had the special on that we saw as it sounded divine. I think OH is going to drive.

Puppy is doing really well and makes the cutest noises when mum leaves her. Shouldn't be long before her eyes open.
