Just thought I would post this to make people aware of the running costs for these Instant Boiling Water hot taps especially in hard water areas.

Bought a Pronteau 4-1 tap and Pro Boil 3

apart from the electric costs (Negligable) consider the following

On Average it will need a new filter 3 times per year 100 each
Hard Water Area will need Descaling every 3 months at 30 per go plus the effort to do it

So yearly with no electric you are looking at around 420 just to keep it running... Worth considering because If i knew that I wouldnt have bought it

How does it cost 30 to de-scale? Is there a reason why you couldn't use an ordinary acid-based descaler?

You blow the warranty if you use any other item. It could still work i guess. not tried it

    Ouch!

I must admit as soon as we heard the price quoted for a boiling water tap while our kitchen designer was offering us one, that stopped us right there even before we considered the annual running costs.

Thanks for the warning, I think I'll stick with my 39.00 Breville machine.
